REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ON LIBRARY COLLABORATION WITH OTHER STAKEHOLDERS WITH REFERENCE TO DEPED ORDER NO. 56, S. 2011 OR THE STANDARDS FOR PHILIPPINE LIBRARIES

In reference to Regional Memorandum No. 378, s. 2026 and Deped Order No. 56, s. 2011 otherwise known as the Standards for Philippine Libraries, particularly Area IC on Linkages and Networking, public school libraries may engage in establishing collaboration to enhance library and information services. In line with this provision, this Office, through the Curriculum Implementation Division (CID) informs the field that the Bureau of Learning Resource (BLR) shall conduct an inventory of existing collaboration efforts involving DepEd librarians in the respective library hubs and school libraries with other stakeholders. The information gathered shall serve as basis for needs assessment in the various aspects of the library linkages and networking including but not limited to gap identification, efficient resource allocation, targeted interventions, improved decision—making, and the over-all enhancement of DepEd library Information services for both school communities and the general public.
