DIVISION TRAINING ON TEACHING BEGINNING READING AND LITERACY INSTRUCTION FOR KEY STAGE 1 TEACHERS
Division Literacy is the cornerstone of academic success and lifelong learning. The 2024 Functional Literacy Assessment Tool (FLAT) and wordlist accuracy assessments revealed that more than half of Grade 3 learners in the Division have not yet achieved grade-level reading proficiency. These results highlight the urgent need to intensify reading instruction focusing on phonemic awareness, decoding, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
To address this need, the Schools Division Office I Pangasinan shall conduct the Division Training on Teaching Beginning Reading and Literacy Instruction for Key Stage 1 Teachers on October 27-29, 2025, at Star Monica Hotel Resort and Restaurant Function Hall I (Monica's Hall), Quibaol, Lingayen, Pangasinan.
