DIVISION RESKILLING OF KEY STAGE 2 TEACHERS IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE INSTRUCTION AND GRAMMAR FOR COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCE


Division Phil-IRI results for Grades 4 to 6 for School Year 2025-2026 reveal that 23.96% of learners are reading three levels below their grade level, 29.86% are reading two levels below, and only 46 .17% are reading at grade level. These results underscore the urgent need to strengthen English language instruction in Key Stage 2, particularly in addressing learning gaps in decoding, vocabulary development, grammar, fluency, and reading comprehension.
