For the information of the field, the U.P. Filipiniana Dance Group is the official folk dance group of the University of the Philippines-Diliman. it was established in 1935 by Francisca Reyes-Aquino, known as the mother of Philippine folk dance and the first National Artist for dance. It has since been directed by some of the best dance practitioners and teachers in the Philippines.
